Someone needs to terminate this apartheid charade of saying that aboriginals are the “traditional owners” of Australia. Territory is never “owned”, it is only occupied by those who can defend it against all comers. Nations therefore have armies to defend their territory against usurpers.
Aboriginals were the first immigrants and squatters in this country – but nobody conferred ownership of land upon them.
The whole purpose of a “voice to parliament” has nothing to do with reconciliation. It is to give governments the constitutional power to usurp anyone’s property at will because “traditional owners” implies prior ownership which has not been legally transferred.
If governments really cared about aboriginal welfare, they would work to uplift and assimilate them and not exile them to the desert to perform stone age tribal dances for tourists in order to live.
